About
Quasar Tallaght, as the site was known back then , was created by Daragh Anderson and Kevin McMahon in May 2000, as an online presence for regular players of the centre.
Amongst the initial features of the site were downloads, quasar information and news. Following on from this, the site has gone on to include many other aspects, including a once very important message board, a Quasar Tallaght News Blog, and player and team profiles.
It was also an extensive archive of Quasar Event information (including photos), with details on all competitions to take place in Ireland since 1998.
Since it's inception the site has undergone a number of transformations and facelifts, until "Quasar Tallaght Online" was finally retired in September 2007, to be replaced by the current Quasar Ireland moniker.
The idea being that Quasar Tallaght had been seen as a site aimed at players from that centre (which is now redundant), whilst the information was pertaining to the Irish Quasar Community as a whole.
The purpose of the site is simple, to contain information about the Quasar Scene in Ireland, including news about centres and competitions, and articles relating to rules and tips on how to play.
The site also acts as a portal to Quasar in the UK & Ireland, through links to sites for other active Quasar Centres, and through association with the Quasar Forums, whereby players from around the World stay in contact and announce competitions and news.
